The reason we chose to propose a “spinner” rather than the small spoons that have become the mainstream metal trout lure in recent years is because we often hear anglers say things like,
“I like spinners because they catch a lot of fish, but the line gets twisted…” or
“The simple body design isn’t enough…”
We want to respond to anglers who say, “There aren’t many that I really like.” We have created a fish body spinner that addresses

the weaknesses of spinners and has a form that is not found in commercially available products, and we have taken ease of use into consideration, creating an original Smith design. This is the fish body spinner “Near Kiss.”

The problem of line twist has long been considered a drawback of spinners. While attaching a snap swivel or similar can largely solve this problem, the added length of the snap swivel on top of the spinner itself can make for an unbalanced appearance, and it cannot be denied that many anglers are put off by them due to their ease of use. However,

a large part of the spinner itself relies on the rotation of the braid to appeal to fish, and it is this rotation of the braid that is the main cause of line twist. The rotation of the braid also causes the body itself to rotate, which in turn leads to line twist.

At Nearkiss, we have developed a “rolling swivel integrated shaft” that has a swivel structure built into the shaft itself, and by using this we have significantly reduced line twist.

Furthermore, with conventional spinners, the fact that the body is fixed to the shaft was also one of the causes of line twist, so we have created clearance between the body itself and the shaft, reducing the rotation of the shaft associated with the body.

The body itself is not a cone or top-shaped type commonly seen in conventional products, but a realistic minnow body. It is not a rounded shape like other companies’, but a thin, vertically elongated type with flat sides that creates a sparkling effect when action is applied. While conventional products only cause the blade to change rotation when action is applied, this one creates a unique movement that is unlike anything else, with the blade shimmering and flaring of the body. , the blade, which is the lifeblood of a spinner, has excellent rotational speed and responds well to even the slightest change in reeling speed.

Many anglers using spinners have likely experienced the situation where a fish chased the bait while reeling, but then didn’t bite. This happens because the spinner’s movement tends to be surprisingly monotonous, with little variation other than the rotation of the blade, and the fish don’t bite because they don’t make that extra appeal.

With Nearkiss, even in such situations, adding action with the rod tip or letting the bait fall, or tweaking the action as you see fit, will surely yield good results.

Additionally, the hook is deliberately set via a split ring rather than directly on the shaft. This allows for the angler to change hooks based on their own preferences or field regulations. Of course, it’s also perfect for anglers who constantly pay close attention to the hook point.
